Reviews

Here is a flavour of the reviews of Rockidles music 🎸.

The latest reviews for the albums Relationships and Relationships 2, singles Autumn Air, Vinyl Junkies, Degeneration, and Give me my life back. Older reviews are a selection of those published in music magazines between 2003 – 2006. It’s always nice to get reviewed anywhere, positive or negative.

The results are classic and catchy and have a mainstream feel while touching on indie artists Dodgy, Badly Drawn Boy and The Verve. The vocals are strong and melodic with sensitive lyrics from the heart. There is a true talent here, superb.

The results are impressive in the extreme recalling a holy alliance between Richard Ashcroft, backed by Pulp and The Charlatans. The 3 tracks on his first demo are all neatly self contained novellas. Comparisons with David Gray are obvious and relevant, except for one crucial element: Hagan is better, honest.

You've Got It Made
is a pleasant song, Back To Me is convincing and sung with commitment. Shine On opens with excellent guitars a la George Harrison.

NME
Pompous Britrock.

Overplay

Wake Up Smell the Coffee is a witty, eloquent tale of middle class parents asking their wayward son spends his days bumming around. Rockidle bolsters his words, with musical muscle. Slide guitar, harmonies, and a sprightly sun roof down driving country rhythm give the track an infectious feel good appeal. Razor Tongue has a Beatles / Stones vibe that chugs along like an edgier Hey Jude, or a more customer friendly I Am The Walrus. Feel A Little Better has some dramatic slide, and a tense groove swagger with the sweaty menace of an alligator. Snapping power chords, vague grumbled vocals, and machine gun bursts of piano, make this an unusual and compelling listen.

South London Guardian

Shine On is brimming with sublime slide guitar breaks reminiscent of George Harrison´s My Sweet Lord. Back To Me is a classic alt-rock ballad. You've Got It Made is a foot tapping little gem.
